Founded in only 1703 by the Tsar Peter the Great as his “window through to Europe”, the city is young when compared to other Russian and European cities. However, the city has experienced a rich and exciting history in such a short space of time, one of continued struggle, destruction and rebirth. The city has always bustled with life and intrigue, revolution and mystery since its early days as Peter the Great’s “Venice of the North”.

St Petersburg is a beautiful and enchanting holiday destination whether visited in the midst of the romantic and snowy Russian winter or the stunning White Nights of the summer months.
