Summer in St. Petersburg

Summer is a magical time to visit St. Petersburg, with its romantic White Nights. During midsummer you can explore the city by day or night illuminated by 24 hours of daylight. At this time of year, the beginning of June to the end of August, the temperature often reaches 20 Deg C and above.

You will need to pack a variety of clothes for this time of the year, as the summers can be hot and humid to cool and cloudy.  Short-sleeve shirts and fashionable shorts are ideal for the warmer days, and jeans, cotton trousers, sweaters and a light jacket being the best for the cooler days and evenings. At this time of year it is also possible to have the occasional rain shower in the morning or evening, so don’t forget a light raincoat or umbrella. Light and comfortable footwear is ideal for strolling through the picturesque suburban parks and along the banks of the many canals. It is advisable to take a pair of sunglasses and a light hat to protect you from the sun’s rays as you enjoy the summertime in St. Petersburg.
