The city of St. Petersburg has long been recognised as the cultural centre of Russia. Although it is no longer the capital, for over 200 years St. Petersburg was the seat of the Tsar’s government as well as symbolising the best of art, architecture, literature, music and theatre that was to be had in Russia.
Theatres - St. Petersburg is home to numerous theatres displaying a diverse repertoire of performances. It is also the home of the world-renowned Kirov Ballet.
